It's been a long, long time.

It's been a long time in between posts.

The normal crazy time of year of Christmas, New Year and my birthday, exploded with happenings such as my Granddad's funeral, my brother's 18th birthday, a triathalon, getting engaged!!!, christmas, the engagement party 3 days after christmas, then new years and my 22nd birthday.

I'm back at uni too. I only have this year and the next to go... and I really don't know if I'm enjoying it. How are you supposed to know if you will enjoy doing something for the rest of your life?

In running news - I am just over two weeks out from my FIRST EVER marathon!! I only decided to train for this about 8 weeks ago - luckily, I was also used to running half marathon distance and had done 22km a few times. So I worked on building up my based, running about 40kms a week, and lengthened my long runs from 15 kms up to 18, 23, 25, and 30 with a few draw back weeks. The plan was to go up to 35kms in a long run but a miscalculation made me realise I didn't allow enough time for that, so my last long run was 30kms last friday. Now, I'm tapering, and stressing out as I've been assured is normal. So many self-doubting questions are plaguing me - how am I supposed to run an extra 12km on top of what I've done already? What if I come last?

12kms takes me approximately an hour an a half. I just have to tough it out and keep on going.
30kms took me just under 4 hours. I'm hoping that I can keep a minimum pace of 7:30/km, which will be a finish time of 5 hours something. Which will be fine!

As for coming last - I don't think I will care once I get to finish haha :)

Anyways, I'm off to cook some delicious comfort food for this chilly rainy night.

Next post I am going to do a review of some running gear I've bought lately!
